Office Hours: Mondays, 10-11:30 a.m.
Diana Garza, Ph.D. (she/her/ella) knows firsthand how life-changing college can be. Growing up in a seasonal farmworker family, she learned the value of hard work and determination early on. As the first in her family to graduate from college, she’s passionate about helping students take that pivotal step into higher education. Thanks to the support she received as a first-gen student at Boise State University’s College Assistance Migrant Program, she’s dedicated her career to building programs that make students feel supported and confident in their college journey.
Now serving as the vice president of Student Affairs at Wenatchee Valley College, Dr. Garza focuses on helping students succeed, from their first year through graduation. With degrees from Boise State and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Northwest Nazarene University, she’s worked for over 20 years to create opportunities, especially for students from underrepresented backgrounds. Dr. Garza loves connecting with students and believes in the power of education to change lives. She is the proud mom of two daughters currently attending college. Her oldest is a doctoral student studying Materials Science Engineering at Harvard, and her youngest is completing a Computer Science degree at Northwestern University.
