Ellen Bruex, Part-Time Faculty

Co-Chair

Ellen Bruex is a part-time faculty member in WVC’s art department, a visual artist, muralist, and creative writer. She has completed several murals around the community. She has a BFA from Kendall College of Art and Design and an MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts from Wilson College. 

Sandra Colbert, Full-Time Faculty

Sandra is an English professor at the WVC Omak campus. She lives in Okanogan with her husband, has three grown sons, and has been full-time faculty since 2023. She was also an adjunct professor at WVCO in the past and has taught for CWU. Additionally, she has taught at the middle school and high school levels. Fun fact: she has run more than 50 marathons and hiked more than 1000 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail.

Kimberly Charlton, Administrative Assistant, Omak Campus

Kim Charlton is a full-time administrative assistant for Allied Health and Nursing on the Omak Campus since February 2022.  She has a background in nursing and loves working with the nursing students and watching their growth.

Julie Fitch, Full-Time Faculty

Julie Fitch became a part-time faculty member in the Transitional Studies at WVC in 2013. She later became the Transitional Studies coordinator in 2020, and then a faculty member in 2023. “I love working at WVC because I believe that community colleges are integral in strengthening the communities they serve and in providing students with the educational and career training opportunities that will help them advance their lives,” Julie said. “And we have the best students at WVC—strong, amazing, and hardworking. It is so inspiring to work with them each day.” 

Jennifer Freese, Director of Nursing Programs

Dr. Jenny Freese is the Director of Nursing Programs at Wenatchee Valley College, where she has served in leadership roles for 18 years. In addition to her work as Dean and Director, she teaches in the BSN pathway program, bringing her extensive expertise into the classroom. 

Dr. Freese holds a Doctorate in Executive Leadership from American Sentinel University, a Master’s in Anesthesia Education from Gonzaga, and a BSN nursing degree from Washington State University. She is an advocate for creating healthy workspaces, recognizing that a supportive environment for faculty and staff is the foundation of a safe learning space for students.

Wendy Glenn, Data Consultant, IT

Wendy Glenn serves as a data consultant in the WVC Technology department and as the WPEA Chief Shop Steward. 

Shea Morgan, IT Manager 

Shea Morgan works as the IT manager at Wenatchee Valley College. Though he works heavily with technology, he is a self-described “gardener at heart.” Shea and his wife try growing anything and everything that our beautiful planet has gifted us. They love working in their garden alongside their dog, cat, and chickens.

Magali Olguin Ramos, Student Benefits Navigator

Magali was born in Colorado but moved to Washington when she was around 10 years old. "Growing up, I have always loved going to school, and through the support of my parents, I was the first in my family to obtain a college degree, earning an associate's degree from WVC (Go Knights!) and a bachelor's degree from Washington State University (Go Cougs!)," she said. She has always enjoyed working in educational settings and worked at Wenatchee High School before she became the Student Benefits Navigator for WVC. As the Benefits Navigator, she helps connect any WVC student to different campus and community resources for their basic needs, such as housing, food, and childcare services. She also helps with completing financial aid applications, applying for grants/scholarships, and applying for public benefits. For more information, feel free to visit www.wvc.edu/BasicNeeds. Saxon Spillman, Part-Time Faculty

Saxon Spillman began teaching Introduction to Humanities at WVC in the fall of 2024. In this course, students study aspects of humanity, past and present, with a cross-cultural lense. A fun fact about Saxon: he loves to scramble onto high rocks and slide around on mountainous snow.  

Aaron Vaughn, SRC Manager & Baseball Coach

Aaron Vaughn serves as the acting assistant director of Knights Athletics, the manager of the Student Recreation Center, and he has been the Knights baseball head coach since 2021. He has provided crucial support to different events across campus and the community, including graduation, an FBLA conference, the Mariachi Northwest Festival, the Native American Classic, and a Vietnam War Veterans Day ceremony. 

Aaron previously served as an assistant coach at Big Bend Community College and played collegiate baseball at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho, and minor league baseball with the Houston Astros. 

Jocelyn Vincent Ramsey, Classified Omak Campus

I have worked at Wenatchee Valley College since 1997 in a variety of roles, beginning as a temporary part-time employee and later as work-study student. I have been employed full-time since 2002.

My previous duties have included receptionist, cashier, GED examiner, test proctor, tutor center coordinator, work-study liaison, and outreach.

Fun fact: In the late 1960s, I attended church social events in the space that is now our student lounge.

Courtney Waller, Part-Time Faculty

Courtney Waller has been an adjunct professor at Wenatchee Valley College since fall 2016, specializing in exercise science and fitness instruction. A Creative and Professional Writing English graduate, Courtney Waller brings her creative communication skills to the classroom. Teaching since 2008, Courtney Waller integrates stress management, mindfulness, and instinctive movement into every fitness course. Courtney Waller holds certifications as an ERYT-500 Yoga Alliance instructor, Barre Fitness instructor, and Pilates Mat Instructor. Leading with positivity and a focus on building community, Courtney Waller is enthusiastic about creating supportive and engaging learning environments for all students.
